Anonymity Networks Community - anoni.net
A Taiwan-based community focused on anonymity networks and internet freedom. We promote open-source tools such as Tor, Tails, and OONI, and work with EFF, Tor Project, and OONI to bring global issues into the local context.
Where we start.
At the start of the project, we focused solely on the OONI project by examining the completeness of observation data on Taiwanese ASNs in the OONI database and assessing whether it reflects the current internet situation in Taiwan. As we continued to promote OONI, we discovered that Taiwan's internet is relatively free, with fewer international issues occurring here. As a result, topics like internet surveillance and interference are less prominent, making it challenging to find real-world cases to aid our promotion efforts. Therefore, we decided to change our approach and the role we play by focusing on privacy-related topics, specifically promoting and building around the issue of "anonymous networks" and services related to them.
