RSS subscription

RSS is a list of articles that a site publishes for feed readers. Your reader checks it regularly and adds new pieces to your list. There is no account to create and no email address to hand over, and with a local reader the list of sites you follow stays on your own device. Opening a feed address directly usually shows a page of code, because the file is meant for readers rather than people.

Three steps

1. Install a reader. Use Feeder on Android, NetNewsWire on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and Thunderbird or Fluent Reader on a computer. All four are free, open-source and need no account. NetNewsWire's interface is English only, while the other three also come in Traditional and Simplified Chinese. In mainland China, where Google Play is unavailable, Feeder can be installed from F-Droid or its GitHub releases page.
2. Copy the anoni.net News feed address, https://anoni.net/news/en/feed.xml.
3. Add a subscription in your reader and paste the address. In NetNewsWire on iPhone, tap + and choose Add Feed. Once the reader lists the latest pieces, confirm to subscribe.

New pieces, published every morning at 07:00 (UTC+8), will then appear in your reader on their own.
